BookPods Terms of Service

Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using BookPods ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Pixel Pug Labs LLC ("we", "us", or "our") regarding your use of BookPods.

Account Registration

Sign in with Apple

BookPods uses Sign in with Apple for authentication. By signing in, you:

• Authorize us to receive your Apple ID, name, and optionally your email address
• Agree to Apple's terms regarding Sign in with Apple
• Are responsible for maintaining the security of your Apple ID

Account Responsibility

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate information in your profile
• Keep your account secure by protecting your Apple ID
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• Not share your account with others or create multiple accounts

Pod Community Guidelines

Book Pods are private groups for reading accountability. When participating in pods, you agree to:

Respectful Conduct

• Treat other pod members with respect and courtesy
• Keep discussions focused on reading and related topics
• Not harass, bully, or intimidate other users
• Not post content that is offensive, discriminatory, or harmful

Appropriate Content

• Share only reading-related updates, reactions, and comments
• Do not share spam, advertisements, or promotional content
• Do not post illegal, misleading, or fraudulent content
• Do not share personal information of others without consent

Pod Management

• Pod owners and admins may remove members who violate these guidelines
• We reserve the right to remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms
• Invite codes should only be shared with people you intend to invite

Acceptable Use

You agree to use BookPods only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to:

• Use the App in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality or servers
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the App
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Use the App to transmit malware, viruses, or harmful code
• Impersonate another person or entity

Content Ownership

Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you create in BookPods, including:

• Your reading data (books, sessions, pages)
• Your profile information
• Your pod posts, comments, and reactions

By posting content to pods, you grant us a limited license to display that content to other pod members as part of the App's functionality.

Our Content

BookPods, including its design, features, code, and branding, is owned by Pixel Pug Labs LLC. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the App without our permission.

Third-Party Services

BookPods integrates with third-party services:

• Firebase (Google): For authentication, data storage, and cloud functions
• Google Books API: For book search and metadata
• Apple Sign In: For account authentication

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• BookPods is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
• We do not guarantee the App will be error-free or uninterrupted
• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App (if any)

We are not responsible for content posted by other users in pods. Report inappropriate content to us for review.

Account Termination

By You

You may delete your account at any time from the Profile tab in the App. Deletion will:

• Remove your profile and account data from our servers
• Remove you from all pods you've joined
• Delete your posts, comments, and reactions

By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Violate these Terms of Service
• Engage in conduct harmful to other users
• Use the App for illegal purposes

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

For significant changes, we may notify you through the App or via email if provided.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Washington State.
