Welcome to Wardrobed. This Privacy Policy explains how Wardrobed ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile application (the "App").
Wardrobed helps you build a digital closet from clothing photos, create clean catalog-style item images, review item metadata, and plan outfits from the clothes you own.
Your closet starts on your device. Wardrobed stores closet records and item images locally first. Photos and metadata are sent to backend AI services only when needed to provide the AI feature you request.
Information We Collect
1. Photos and Closet Content
When you choose a clothing or outfit photo from your library, Wardrobed may store and process:
- Original clothing and outfit photos you select.
- Generated clean item images, cutouts, thumbnails, and processing status.
- Closet metadata such as item name, category, color, pattern, material, season, notes, and outfit board placement.
Wardrobed uses the system photo picker. We do not access your full photo library; we receive only the items you choose.
2. Account Information
If you sign in, Wardrobed uses Clerk-backed authentication and Sign in with Apple. Depending on your Apple privacy choices, we may receive:
- A unique account identifier.
- Your email address or Apple private relay email.
- Your display name, if you choose to share it.
This information is used for authentication, account management, and access to backend AI features.
3. AI Processing Data
When you request AI-assisted features, Wardrobed may send selected photos and relevant closet metadata to our backend so it can:
- Extract clothing metadata from an image.
- Generate or regenerate a clean catalog-style item image.
- Detect clothing pieces from an outfit photo.
- Recommend outfit combinations from your closet metadata.
How We Use Information
We use information to provide and improve Wardrobed's core features:
- Save and display your closet items and outfit boards.
- Run image preparation, background cleanup, metadata extraction, and outfit recommendation workflows.
- Let you review and correct AI-assisted results before saving.
- Authenticate backend requests and prevent unauthorized access.
- Debug reliability issues, monitor usage limits, and keep the service stable.
- Respond to support requests.
Data Storage and Security
- On-device storage: Wardrobed stores closet records and image files in the app's local storage using Apple platform storage technologies.
- Backend processing: AI jobs are handled through our Convex backend when production AI is configured.
- Authentication: Clerk and Sign in with Apple help protect account-backed requests.
- Transport security: Backend requests use encrypted HTTPS connections.
No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we use reasonable safeguards to protect your information.
Third-Party Services
Apple
Wardrobed uses Apple system services such as Photos picker and Sign in with Apple. Apple's privacy information is available at apple.com/legal/privacy.
Clerk
We use Clerk for authentication. Clerk processes account and session information according to its privacy policy: clerk.com/privacy.
Convex
We use Convex for backend functions, job state, and secure AI processing. Convex's privacy information is available at convex.dev/legal/privacy.
OpenAI
Wardrobed may use OpenAI services through our backend to analyze selected images, generate clean item imagery, and recommend outfits. OpenAI's privacy policy is available at openai.com/privacy.
What We Do Not Do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not use your closet data for advertising.
- We do not request location, contacts, microphone, or health data.
- We do not access photos you did not choose through the system picker.
Data Retention and Deletion
Local closet data remains on your device until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app. Backend AI job data and account-related records are retained only as needed to provide the service, operate security and usage controls, resolve support issues, and meet legal obligations.
You can contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of account-backed information associated with Wardrobed.
Children's Privacy
Wardrobed is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
