Summary
ZoomGIF lets you create zoom-animation GIFs from photos you choose on your device. Framing, captioning, and GIF generation in the shipping app happen on-device.
ZoomGIF does not require an account, does not use cloud AI to create GIFs, and does not upload your photos or GIFs unless you explicitly choose a system sharing or saving action.
Information We Process
Photos You Choose
- ZoomGIF uses the iOS photo picker so you can choose a photo to edit.
- A temporary working copy of the photo may be written to ZoomGIF's local temporary storage while you are editing or exporting.
- Your full photo library is not uploaded by ZoomGIF.
Saved GIF Library
- If you choose to save a GIF, ZoomGIF stores the generated GIF in the app group's on-device shared container so it can appear in the app and the iMessage extension.
- The saved library can include the GIF file, a thumbnail image, optional caption text, creation date, and file size metadata.
- ZoomGIF keeps up to the 50 most recent saved GIFs in that shared library.
Local Settings
- ZoomGIF stores simple local preferences such as whether you have completed onboarding.
- Generated GIFs do not include a ZoomGIF watermark in the current shipping workflow.
Diagnostics
- If you choose to share crash or diagnostic information with Apple, Apple may make limited diagnostic information available to the developer.
- ZoomGIF does not sell personal information.
- ZoomGIF does not use third-party advertising or tracking in the current shipping workflow.
How We Use Information
We use the information above to let you choose a photo, generate previews and finished exports on-device, save GIFs when you ask, make saved GIFs available in the iMessage extension, remember local app state, and respond to support or privacy questions.
Sharing
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not share your photos or generated GIFs with the developer by default.
- When you choose to export or share a GIF, the GIF is shared only through the Apple or third-party destination you select.
Retention
- Temporary working copies used during editing/export stay in app temporary storage until they are removed or cleared by the system.
- GIFs saved to the shared ZoomGIF library remain on-device until you delete them, the app trims older items beyond the 50-item library limit, or you remove the app.
- GIFs saved to Photos remain in your photo library until you delete them there.
- Local preferences remain on-device until you reset or remove the app.
Your Choices
- You can choose whether to save a finished GIF to Photos, to the shared ZoomGIF library, or neither.
- You can deny or revoke the add-only Photo Library permission in iOS Settings.
- You can delete saved GIFs from the app or Messages gallery.
